History of Central Salvage

Central Salvage Co., Inc. was formed and incorporated on February 27, 1981.  On February 15, 2001 (her birthday), Barbara J. Mason was gifted 50% (shares) of the Company from Carl Mason.


It was under Barbara Mason’s guidance and leadership that Central Salvage Company grew to be one of the largest selective demolition contractors in the area.
On May 30, 2023, Barbara J. Mason became 55% (55 shares) owner of Central Salvage Co., Inc. after Carl Mason gifted her 5 shares as he began to step away from the day-to-day responsibilities of the business.  Barbara Mason became President of Central Salvage Co., Inc. on January 1, 2024


Central Salvage Co., Inc. moved its offices from 1700 Butler Pike Conshohocken, PA to 124 N. Narberth Avenue Narberth, PA in 1981 and then to its present location at 224 South 20th Street Philadelphia, PA in 2005.


Central Salvage Co., Inc. performs specialized selective demolition work in hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, chemical facilities, historic buildings, universities, and utility companies in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.  This list of General Contractors and owners Central Salvage has successfully completed contracts includes: Turner Construction, Daniel J. Keating Co., HSC Builders, Gilbane, Skanska, P. Agnes, L.F. Driscoll, Torcon, Princeton University, University of Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia Museum of Art.


Central Salvage is a union contractor and has assigned its bargaining rights to the G.B.C.A. in Philadelphia (Laborers Local 332 and Operating Engineers Local 542) and the ACCNJ in New Jersey (Laborers Local 77 and Operating Engineers Local 825).
